“I can’t breathe,” may be the refrain of our time. From African Americans who are tragically dying from racism to people with covid-19 struggling to be ventilated, from protesters in Hong Kong longing to breathe free, to social media suffocating us with half-truths and deceptions. “I can’t breathe.”
Jesus’ disciples couldn’t breathe as they sheltered in place, in Jerusalem. With whom could they share their hopes and fears? Then suddenly the Breath of God came as a mighty wind and they not only could breathe but proclaim good news.
May we experience the Spirit, the Breath of God, and be empowered to breathe freely and to proclaim the good news of God.
This Sunday please join us for Pentecost worship.
